Feedback from the BCHG Board - July 2026
The BCHG Board met on 30 July 2026 to review performance, hear what residents are telling us and make decisions about future plans for BCHG. Residents' voices remained an important part of discussions throughout the meeting, reflecting our commitment to "No Voice, No Approval".
Listening to residents
Board reviewed resident feedback, satisfaction results, complaints, scrutiny activity and engagement work taking place across BCHG. Board was pleased to see continued improvement in resident satisfaction and heard about plans for the upcoming resident conference, All Together Now, taking place in September.
Board discussed how resident feedback is influencing service improvements and continues to challenge the organisation to demonstrate the difference resident involvement is making to decisions and services.
Homes and housing services
Board received assurance on housing performance and discussed key areas including repairs, empty homes, anti-social behaviour, income collection and tenancy support.
There was recognition that housing services continue to face challenges, particularly around maintaining and improving homes, but Board was encouraged by the work underway to improve services and by strong performance in a number of key areas. Board also received assurance on compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing's consumer standards.
The Board discussed preparations for Awaab's Law and the importance of ensuring residents live in safe, healthy and well-maintained homes. This remains a key priority for BCHG.
New homes for the future
Board received an update on BCHG's development programme and the progress being made in delivering new affordable homes.
Members heard that homes at Blowers Green Road are beginning to be handed over and that work has started on the Lewis Street development. Board discussed future opportunities to provide more high-quality homes while ensuring BCHG remains financially strong and continues to invest in existing homes and services.

Financial strength
Board approved BCHG's 2025/26 Financial Statements following a successful external audit.
The Board received assurance that BCHG remains financially strong, continues to meet its financial commitments and is well placed to invest in homes, services and future priorities. Maintaining a strong financial position helps BCHG remain resilient while continuing to support residents and communities.
